It’s almost time for the first session of our new story club for young creatives!

Story Club is a dedicated space for 8 to 13-year-olds to practice their creativity and build confidence through sharing their work with others.

Because we all have stories to share and being creative is good for us.

Story Club is all about –

• having fun with words and pictures
• meeting and sharing ideas with other young story-makers, and
• writing or drawing your stories however you want!*

It is NOT about –

• practicing spelling or handwriting
• learning grammar and punctuation rules
• teaching you to write like they do at school.

In Story Club, we will –

• Play games and other activities to create ideas (sometimes using the objects in the museum for inspiration)
• Write/draw the things we want to
• Share what we’ve created with each other.

*Within reason: note that activities will take place in the Museum’s education room and outcomes will be paper based.

Sessions will be led by Alison Mott, author, writing teacher and book coach, and award-winning artist Liz Waddell.
