It made me smile to see that myself and my wonderful friend Karen Ette share shelf space in the gift shop at Loughborough’s Charnwood Museum.

Karen is now Dr Ette, the Writer’s Secret Helper, helping people to write and sharpen their manuscripts and theses, and I’m a writing teacher and community storytelling facilitator, so we both help others to craft stories and send them out into the world.

But we met back in the day as classmates on Loughborough University’s Masters in Creative Writing course, both dreaming one day we’d be published authors. And look, here we are!
