I have a small amount of room in my schedule for coaching and mentoring writers and others working in the creative field. My rates as at June 2025 are as follows:

Online (Zoom) or phone call:
£30 per hour for a single session
£100 per block of 4 sessions (paid in advance)

Face-to Face meeting:
£35 per hour for a single session
£120 per block of 4 sessions (paid in advance)

Critical read of written work, with comments shared face-to-face or online:
£30 per hour (approx 5,000 words per hour)

Copy edit of written work, checking for accuracy and consistency, readability and fitness for purpose, eliminating repetition and other errors:
£35 per hour (approx 5,000 words per hour) 

Comprehensive edit of written work, addressing the structure of the manuscript, tightening language, searching out clumsy or awkward sentences, use of vocabulary. Attention to dialogue, characters, settings. 
£45 per hour

Critical read of longer works
A read through of your entire manuscript (or excerpt), addressing any specific questions you have raised. A full commentary including notes on characterisation, sense of place, narrative structure, potential areas for work in terms of craft/structure and any other points that seem notable.

up to 30,000 words £275
up to 60,000 words £375
over 60,000 words £375 + £5 for every additional 1000 words
